Ok you are just not going to believe this!
This weekend I finally got to bring my 1200 coupe home This is the first time since Easter that I have driven it. It stared of Ok a few little hitches with a heater hose, a tacho not working and a speedo that is reading about 10mph to fast. I had to drive the frog about 500klms (Toowoomba- Roma). Now the creapy bit. Going good all things as expected, just outside Chinchilla a grid crosses the road, I hit this at about 100kph and the motor just stoped like it ran out of fuel or I lost ignition! I look around, can't find anything out of place and after a few minutes it restarted just fine. I thought "that was strange and left it at that. Then it did it again just past Roma I hit a big bump and, out goes the fire. Try and restart, cranks over just fine but no fire, let it sit a couple of minutes and away she goes. I must mention these bumps were big enough to bottom out my front suspension that is not well, It actually ruptured the D/S insert. So OK What the is going on with my car! I can't find any problems. Been driving for 30 years and working on cars even longer! It has me really beat! Have any of you came across this before?

the first thing i would look at is the 2 wires into the tacho if the connection is a bit iffy that will cause the prob and to check if its the tacho itself just join the black with white stripe wires together to bypass the tacho alltogether

I would be checking the power wire to the distributor.
I had the clip on mine come loose and would misfire under similar conditions.

Your cars not possessed, It's just allergic to abuse! It faints under pressure. Mabe you should take to a car psychyatrist. Get it some medicine. Not the type stealthunderradar is on. You don't want your car to become a rambling hippie..

I had the same thing happen to a 5.0 Mustang. Go around a left turn too hard and it would cut out.
Found out it was a short in the wire loom, but would only happen when it was pushed to the right (the loom).
I'd get it running and start jiggling the wires and see if ya can't get it to die or cut out.
Aslo FEEL the wires along they're lenght, if they feel real soft, the wire may be burned away inside. I've had that problem before too.
