Ha Ha, I stuffed up on the calculation. To do a 13, you only need 115 HP atw (not 130-140) with a 700kg car. Thats a lot less power than Top Gear made with his draw thru setup.

LJ, you could do a pre compressor WI setup for about $30 and the exhaust would be cheaper than 200 if you could do it yourself.

If you used methonal or E85 you probably wouldnt need WI.

yea i was factoring in flange for dump pipe 40 max, new muffler 100 or so, 180 bend 30 odd and a few meters of pipe. i can't remember how much my last exhaust system cost for my ca conversion, think the shop charged 300 and i done the dump and front pipe myself but i think he bombed the price up a bit cos he owed me.

if you can do a WI system for 30$ it'd be fairly doable.

maybe it needs to be a 12 second 1200 for $1200 lol

I think rules must be the following-

- must be datsun
- must be datsun 1200 motor (plenty around so theyre cheap)
- only concern is gearbox, A-series boxes arent strongest

Somebody was telling me about on some forum there was a 10's for $5000 or less. That was to include buying the car and whatever engine/box package you wanted. Still yet to find it.

people pretend far too often that these things are cheap t build.... they are not! too many comments along the lines of ... yeah get a CA18DET for $600 and everything else you need for $500 and you''l have a CA datto for $1100.... life is not that simple!!!!!!!!!

Don has 200 dollar 1000 ute, they are 615kg remove rear tailgate thats nother 10kg, Silvia disc front end, smallr battery, no bumpers, alloy radiator, A12T with 60 series four speed or toyota T40 (hint hint cheap strong box), chop roof down 4 inches for better flow, sub 600kg @ 90kwatw should do it.
