any v8 cap shud be able to adapt to the dizzy.

basically, the way it works is that it sequentally fires twice. the secondary spark enables unburt gasses to ignite, accelerates the buring of the fuel mixture and it keeps the motor from stalling at low rpms

Dude I dont know if you full of it, or you just very mislead by a dodgey mechanic. But I know which way I am leaning.
First you say you have done it and now you say any V8 dizzy cap "should" fit. Please note that a cap and rotor button dont make extra sparks, all they do is distribute them.
First you need to be able to trigger 4 more ignition pulses and then your head needs to be able to accomodate 4 extra spark plugs.
Question. If you bought a V8 dizzy cap, Why didnt you buy 1 set of V8 leads?

Be sure to post pictures, Even if its just of your turbo setup that you have stuffed up Dont want others following in your foot steps if its going down the wrong track.

hahahaha i like it how u said it will rev to 8000 rpm on stock valvetrain.... not matter what ur induction, ur engine is not going to rev to 8000 on stock valve train the valves will still bounce at around 6000rpm, i wont even go into the stock valves or ports, theres no way ull get even close to a 13 or even closer to a 12 sec 1/4 mile. like others id like to see pics and u say ur only weeks off finishing the engine show us a few vids of it running i know there are ppl on the site that will host the vids for our enjoyment.

when i got my v8 cap i just randomly chose a cap and matching rotor and simply adapted it to my a12 dizzy using a peice of metal plate. to trigger the extra 4 sparks, my points converter came with universal kit allowing it to be fitted to 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines. there was no need to use an exta 4 spark plugs when my iradium plugs can withstand the exta spark so i have joind two leads to each plug. as for the leads, if i where to buy a set of v8 leads, that would mean they where to suit a v8 motor and would be to long where as the a12 set where ideal lenghts( 8 spark plug leads and 1 coil lead).

the setup actually works, not just in theory

before this igniton configuration my engine could rev to 7000 with only minor mods and now it actually DOES rev to 8000. my motor was only a few weeks from goin, but now i have to redesign my torbo setup so it will be a good month or two. however i will keep in mind the very doubts you have in my motor running 13's let alone 12's if you already fail to accept what i have already acheived

Just keep us in the light with some pics it sounds interesting. Dont worry about the critical comments, new ideas is what life is sometimes all about. True and tried can always be challenged, its just that miscommunication can always nudge anyone the wrong way.

I went to ex b10 race mechanic Gordon Dobey a few weeks ago and discovered a little secret from his ex nissan race days.
Quote:
He made custom piston pop out over deck height and used open chamber heads with huge inlet valves and huge exhaust valves that didnt fit the piston area so he had to severe notch the block and massive valve recesses on the pistons.

D, this is not as uncommon as you might think, this is exactly what is done to my A12 rally motor so I could cram in 41mm inlets and 34 exhaust valves. One of the problems is that this type of configuration is very hard to get quality head gaskets for because of the large cut outs in the block, even the nismo gaskets are too small in the dia of the fire rings to seal over the cutouts in the block. Not too many secrets left these days I guess. Its a lot of work to achieve but showed good results.

Pictures would be great. I am sure another member would be able to take pics for you if you dont have a camera.
When you joined 2 leads to one spark plug, how did you insulate them to prevent missfiring?
Whats the firing order that you placed the leads on the dizzy cap?

In the quote below, tell me why I would think you are full of it.
