Just timing with my watch the Sunny did a 1:14 and the coupe a 1:17

there were 2 other coupes, but they were too fast, I kept getting photos of half of them...

Anyone else get pics?

hey dude...thanks for posting the Pic....

We made really good headway today with the set-up...still heaps to do though! We eventually got down to a 1:12.7, so I was really happy with that. Would have gone faster in the last session, but my brain kept fading when I was on good laps...I think I was trying to hard! Did lots of good sections of the lap, but couldn't string them all together...even with the mistakes, we were still high1:12's....so happy with that!

Bring on tomorrow!

My eldest son & I grabed the 120Y belonging to No. two son & headed into town. [Goulburn] I took about 77 photo's & we will be back tomorrow with fresh batteries for the camera & i will see if i can load a couple of hundred into the memory chip.

I met some fine people out at the track & saw some bloody fast cars, including a 1600 with FJ20 that was frightening me with it's acceleration down the straight.

I met Benny & Datman55 & CA18DET man for the first time, all of whom impressed me with their cameraderie & their friendliness.
Benny was really geting with the program & his car, & overall presentation were absolutely first class.
I didn't get to see Datman55 run but the car looked first rate & if it runs as good as it looks, it will be very hard to beat.

I saw some fine restorations, particularly an early Prince Skyline GT which is the great grand-daddy of the much loved Datsun, then Nissan Skyline range. If i remember rightly, the early Prince Skyline GT had a triple Webber instalation as standard & very few were actually sold, making this a very rare example.

There were some "diamonds in the rough" too, some were very rough, but should be regarded as good candidates for future projects.

OK people, here's the plan. I will take all the photos that i can over the weekend & load them into a folder on my computer. I will copy the whole lot, as is, onto CD's & make them available to anyone at no charge. Within Australia, you will need to send me a stamped, self addressed CD mailer, & it will be all yours. Further details in a few days.

A heartfelt thank you to all those who took the time to talk with me & give me the chance to shoot my photos.

If you see someone in a Dodge Motorsport cap & a camera in hand, it'll be me.
No piont in wearing a Datsun or Nissan cap, I'd be just another grain of sand on the beach & I'd like to meet up with some more members.

Except for the helmet, he looks like he's on his way to the jobsite with a load

Sounds like heaven!!!!!!
One day I'll have to come over for a look.
Try to stick some of the really good pics in this thread. The front page of photo album will fill up and move down before I get to see them all.

Oh man, it just gets better & better. I took 230 photo's at the show & shine, i just shot everything in sight. A whole stack of Z cars, & almost as many 510's. A very nice showing of Datsun roadsters too.

Shoeys green 1200 sedan was there & it is truly a work of art. It has raised the bar for me [Curse you Shoey] This is the best thought-out-job that i have seen in a while. The carefully executed engineering becomes aparent once you get a good look at it.
Bloody well done mate.

I also met up with a few more of our members & enjoyed a good natter, but had to move on & take more pictures. I had to be home by lunchtime so that Number one son could go to work. Would have loved to stay & talk some more. Maybee tomorrow.

Tomorrow's a whole 'nother day with action at the track. I will try to capture that on [virtual] film too.

were there many cars at the show and shine?

I want to go again tomorrow, but my gearbox was making some scary noises on the way home (figured its probably in need of some oil) but I cant get the filler undone
I reckon I'll head down anyway and hope it survives...
