Hi all, has anyone converted a 4 door 1200 to 2 door?

I know some of the 1600 guys have done it but it looks a bit wonky, i did a quick photoshop on these two 1200 sedans and it looks pretty good?

Ultimately i would like to weld up the rear doors on a sedan and add the coupe flares (it's a race car).

It almost looks like the original 2 door sedan, just not as curvy, but still well proportioned.

You're right the 510's converted look a bit odd but the 1200 looks great like that!

If you're doing a racecar then remove the 2 piece windows and replace them with 1 piece perspex

What about moving the B pillar back and using like Coupe doors(assuming they are longer like a thou)?

that would actually make it very very close to the real thing seems as the 2 doors use coupeish doors(with different tops)

The 1200 post is shorter than a 1200 sedan this you must consider when building your toy

not quite that simple... as mentioned before, the tops of the doors are different, which means you would have to extend some standard 1200 door tops, and put them onto coupe doors... Then you'd find the glass will be different, and neither coupe glass or standard sedan glass will fit, and probably not even standard 1200 2 door sedan glass.... You'd have to get custom... I s'pose its not that bad since glass in 1200's is straight!

Don't let me put you off though, go for it
