Sounds like he has done a bit of work, not a fan of hotwires though, each to their own.

He probably would have put his better weels on his 1600 or just keeping them and slapped the hotwires on to sell it.
I reckon you could try and talk him down a bit, somewhere between 3 and 4 sounds about right I would think.... Depends on how good conidtion it is in and if there are any problems with it?

Sounds like a good setup. Price is right. Especially if it has very very little rust, and will pass rego for the next 3 years with minimal effort. He's done all the good things to it. What condition are the seats and trims? There's at least 10 grand spent on the car by the sounds of things. So getting it for 4000 is a bargain. Do you know the car's history? lots of rust repairs?

If it's straight with minimal history of rust, then go for it. Try for 3500, but 4000 isn't too bad. Especially if it has rego.

To normal people this may not be a bargain. But if you want a 1200 then it's fine.

yeah i seen this car before it got painted and it was mint. The door trims are all good and it has 3 months rego. I know what ya mean about it being worth nothing to a normal person, thats wat all my friends said "4000 dollars for a 30 year old car (that is a datsun) your getting ripped off" they all like skylines
