Well i got my ute (North QLD) for 1000 bucks with a beautiful standard a12 engine (nothing wrong with it) complete with electic fuel pump, spotties, front discs etc. The only thing i have to do now to get it on the road is a bit of panelbeating and fix the rust in the tray. Then after a spray of paint there will be another datto on the road!!!

Utes are still for anything between $2000 and $5000 however 1200 Sedans and coupes are fairly cheap cause theres not many in that good a condition. I got a brilliant buy, 4 door 1200 stock as and almost mint condition for 100 bucks off an old russian guy in melbourne.
Now thats my type of pricing.

Yeah most of the ones advertised cost a bit.
Especially the utes.
But the best way to buy a datsun is off a guy who knows a guy who has one sitting in the back yard or off someones front lawn or something.

My Datsun was $800 (or $900, I forget) when I bought it and it had a few months of rego and was good drove it for a year flat out doing pizza deliveries in it and and the only thing that went wrong was that I needed a new alternator. Then after that year the engine blew up. Which I was planning for, then I got the A15 into it.
Now it has started to cost me money...
Why couldn't I keep it standard?
