Hey everyone. I just started doing the Silvia brake upgrade and decided to do the coilover conversion while I had everything apart. Where can I buy strut inserts in the U.S. and what inserts are worth the money, KYB, Bilstien, ect.....My car once completed is just going to be a daily driver, but I'd like it to handle decent. Thanks

Konis are great. Check out classic garage.

I got Ground control coil overs for my 610. I will use Koni struts/shocks.
My car got painted and soon I will get it all together.ClassicGarage

And for coil overs, just in case...Coil Over Suspension

One more question.....since I put a 2.3 Turbo in the car, I don't know the exact weight off hand, does anyone know of a way to estimate what spring rate I'll need to use?

You need the weight of the engine, combined with the weight of the car. Check out the weight the car sold with that engine has. Check out the weight of the engine itself. Compare it to the weight of your original Sylvia engine and your Sylvia car.

Check what is the recommended spring rate for the car that came with the engine you have in your car now. That should give you all the tools to make an educated guess.

you can do it right and get 240sx struts- good ones, not more oem junk, the konis are good, but try to get the modern KYB adjustable ones, no point on doing coilovers and using cheap dampers.

if it's a 240sx front end... it can hold a ka24 ;) use the right springs.

Pedro and sleeper, thanks for the advice, I'm pretty sure I can figure it out, I just need to find out the weight of the motor. (It is a 2.3 ford turbo, from the comments it sounded like people thought it was a silvia engine). As for doing it right and just buying a 240sx set up...if it would bolt up I would be all over it, fabricating everything is getting old.
