Has anyone removed the rear door step from the rear arch on a sedan and if so how did they go about it? Pics would be great too.

Cheers
Sean

What part are you talking about?
Maybe a pic of the area will help out first.

Im not sure if I am on the right track for why you want to remove it. But if its because of rust. I would just clean it up with a linisher and/or a die grinder to get the rust out so you can weld a patch in.
If its rusted underneath too, I would just cut it out with an angle grinder from underneath.

OAN878 (chris) was telling me at Jambo last year that when he launched hard with the wide wheels on the back of his sedan, the sidewall of the tyre rubbed against this part. I think he would of rectified the problem by now so maybe try giving him a PM, if it is for that reason.

Yes thats right, I need more clearance, when I look under the rear wheel well I can see the tyre almost touching without any weight on the car. Also fitting flares but I have the pumping of the lip itself sorted.

I've removed the step before for tire clearence on a 2 door. If there is space behind the "bump" (there is on the 2 door) just take a ball pean hammer and start at the rear end of the bump where it is small. With lots of hammering and some finnesse you can invert the raised area and gain quite a bit of tire room. Just takes time and makes lots of noise.
