I have on the floor a complete rear suspension from an MX5 Miata. I had a look at it for the Chickenhawk. It is quite a bit wider than a 1200 axle, 3 or 4 inches I think
I have already started this project. I've cut 100mm cut out of the centre which is really easy to do because it is a complete subframe. Regarding the problem with the upper arms, because it is going into a coupe it is not too much of a major to make the necessary mods for clearance. Being a rally car, rear suspension travel will be a priority...something that is a real problem with the standard rear suspension because of a lack of clearance between the diff legs and the chassis rails. This setup will cure that. The diffhead will also need to be changed...I need a ratio of around 4.8 to 5.1:1 LSD which at this stage it looks like being either Nissan or Toyota.
I'll keep you in touch with progress.
