Yeah all those prices on top of the engine build etc would be a decent budget.. what computer do u plan on usin?

Mate shop around. My last rebuild I saved heaps on good quality parts.
Set of forged venolia pistons with total seal rings $650 Argo forged rods $800 complete ACL race series gasket set with MLS head gasket (every gasket needed for complete rebuild )$400 ARP stud kit $150 Roller bearing turbo $1200-$1800 tomie procams springs and pullies $1200 machine work ??? computer around $1200- $2000
If you need some help sourcing parts give me a yell I have a few good contacts also one great supplier in Japan.

No idea on the computer yet Wardy, each have there own advantages I suppose.

It's probably the most difficult decision in the whole build.

Yeah i kno how ya feel mate.. i had ta choose one for my L20T in my 1600, was bloody hard but i went with a Wolf 3D, Some ppl bag the wolf but i personally think they are a great comp for the cash..

Im pretty sure I can still get the autronic basic SMC for around $1600 only bad thing about them is the cam angle sensor is a prick to change the wheel in Microtech aint bad either for the $$ Haltech are also good

ah thats a good price then (rebuild install and wire up)

have you been in a ca18 powered 1200? they are fast in standard form. a neat streeter would be nuts with a standard ca with a little extra boost.

a "stage 2" kinda setup that is on the cheap but still faster would be some 444 gtr injectors ($200 max) s15bb turbo or similar ($600ish) and some boost. Any aftermarket ecu should be able to get 190kw at the wheels out of this with about 18psi (on a fresh standard engine). this should equal a high eleven second quarter with some sticky slicks and more than a handful on the street with a planting of your right boot.

Hey Whorida, why don't you also have a look at some of the ECU's that are made in ZA. Have a look at these sites.

Dicktator
Gotech

I'm personally going to run the Dictator, and more of the guys that make big power use them. Not that there aren't cars that make the bigun's that use the Gotech tough.

After some research and asking around, it seems the Dicktator is the easier and more accurate to set up of the bunch. Their site doesn't look as pro, but I guess they rather spend their resources on making the comp right.

Their prices are very good, and they come with universal wiring harnesses, instructions and programming software.

Just a suggestion, as people seem to look past the Wolf and others that are available, and rather go for these over here...

200rwkw in a ute would be pretty insane

I used to run 170rwkw many years ago on the street in my coupe was nice and smooth drivable and capable of 12 flat down the quarter in full street trim. I personally would build up a tough engine run say 14-15psi for the street and wind it up for the drags or special occasion.
