From all the 1200's ve seen the allround best colors would have to be light colors, like pastels. Dont get me wrong there are some nice dark and pearl Datto's for sure. But with a nice solid pastel you cant go wrong with any style like chrome bars/ black etc.
I'm going to suggest to have a look at some nice purples for your Datto Whorida. i think it would stand out and still look the part.

Good luck with your color choice and im looking foward to seeing the end result.

i wouldnt be too concerned. Ive had my ute for 4 years and although there is a handful of other 1200 utes painted hothouse green that ive been told about or seen on the web. To this day i still havent seen a hothouse green 1200 ute with my own eyes apart from my own.

You just dont see that many 1200's anymore. If your worried about other types of older car sharing the popular colour of choice thats another thing.

i bought my ute for its straight body, not its colour. but ive stuck with it. it still gets lots of compliments on its colour which most people cant identify anyway, it must just look different on a 1200?

but if i personally was painting a bare 1200 shell. id paint it silver. no doubt.

good luck choosing your colour

Unless it's the next big colour to take off (tiger gold, blueprint, hothouse green) then my next project will cop that hue.

well my 1000 was red when i got it. then i desided to restore and paint inside and out. so i could go any colour i wanted... but i chose red. When it was just about ready for paint i thought. hang on. i can pick any colour. so i looked around, but i recon the only colour that suited a 1000 wag was red. so i looked at reds. suzi swift, mazda3, VY commo. I wanted a red red, not a morone, orange or purply red but a deep red red. I ended up getting a custom shade 1/2 made of leftovers and 1/2 tinter. i love the colour, it has a slight metalic thru it too.

So i would say look around the net for pics of 1200s and see what colour suits em! Also something that will match your intiror and other accesories. like chrome doesnt look the best on a light silver (IMO)

Not mine BigD, my wife's. My ute's staying white, she's getting the blinged up turbo one. The compromise is I get to begin a nasty project (probably a blown small block Ford) once it's done.

On another note, how bad is this bloody weather. I've gotta bring the CA over from the workshop and tow Kirstie's ute to the sodablaster, but I don't want to until we get some decent weather, could be waiting a while.

Kirstie, I have a pair of guards you can colour match! They are a nice shade of pink, with a hip 70's metallic flake.. Sound familiar?

My advice is to take your time as you want to rush it and end up with soemthing you don't 110% love. It took me ages as well.

I find that the colours i like tend to be on custom chopper motorbikes. They seem to like the wild paint jobs and have some awesome colours! Just an idea.

Suss out House of Kolor as well. Best colours around IMO.

if you like the idea of pink stripes why not go pink, i wouldnt have it on my car but for a chicks car it would look pretty cool, there are a few good lookin cars with different types of pinks these days
