MtCotton Hillclimb

hope this isn't too big for you poor modem users

I was feeling kinda nostalgic after B120dat posted an old pic of my car, so I had a look over my mates old website that he sadly no longer updates with this kind of stuff. Back then I was running 195/60 Azenis tyres on the pintara/skyline steel rims.

Sharp looking coupe.

These are a good size for us 56k users (like me), doesn't take too long to load, yet big enough to see some detail.

yep, it's the same car. it sort of evolved into what it is now. When I first built it, it was as a nice, quick little street car. Then I got into Datsun Car Club days at Lakeside, and got the bug in a big way. Got my CAMS licence and started doing classic road rallies that a mate of mine was into, then hillclimbs and sprints. And the car gradually got modified along the way with suspension tweaks, engine swaps (L16->L20->L18), carb and cam changes, stripped interior, race seat, diff swap which led to the new paint scheme, now flares and wheels, and more suspension changes... I don't think the mods will ever stop

My next event is the first round of the Interclub challenge on Sunday March 30. It's an Autocross (dirt track) at Ipswich - between QLD Raceway and the Go-Kart track on champions way. But I'll probably be using my Skyline at that event - the Datto will probably be in peices again...

Next events for the 1200 are:
May 10-11 Sprint at Morgan Park.
May 31 - 1 June QLD Hillclimb Championships Mt Cotton
June 21-22 QSSS Rd2 Morgan Park

Were we supposed to notice that you are driving on the wrong side in the top photo?

Of course, under closer inspection the numberplate is reversed.

Chris

just my everyday car - R31 update. I also own a C110 Skyline (240K) with a 4.4 l alloy V8, but it's not going yet. In fact I haven't even started work on it. have a look here

the top photo is from the Mountain Challenge classic raly - that's my co-driver Tim with the white moto-x helmet in the passenger seat.

That top photo looks really great. Nice time of the day and a bright red Datto coming around the corner. Looks schweet. Those Skyline rims look pretty good in motion too.
