that 1200 coupe is a bloke on Ausrotary.com.

the best sleepers are obscure cars, like mazda 323 vans with 13B turbos in them, 1200 utes with CA18s, Crowns with 2JZs, EA falcons with turbo'd 504ci big blocks - yatta yatta yatta.

if you can keep people in the preformance scene guessing, THEN it's a sleeper.

My XR6 catches a lot of ppl of guard! It just looks and sounds reasonably std untill the waste gate opens! I'd love to run it down the 1/4, but haven't had the chance cos AIR has been closed for so long! should run low 12sec @ around 116-118mph. Have had it on a G-tech, ran 12.4 @ 116mph. Who knows how reliable they are though.
There's a older Cressida here in SA with a 400+rwkw 2jz. looks std as, but is insane on the road! peels 150+ km/h.

Yeah that Cressida was at the nats. Everyone was bagging it til the screamer pipe let everyone know it was serious!!

Apparently in the burnout comp at nats he asked for more water to start off with and the offcial was like 'why?' and he replied 'cause I'm starting in 4th!'

A sleeper is a damn nice idea.
If my GX was hotted up, I would have thought about making it a sleeper.
Because it is standard I decided to make it a show car instead. Nice and tidy almost like new.

In your case, you are planning on fitting a nice hot motor. Keep the body as is. Even try and find the 12" rims they came out with and hubcaps.

The best sleeper I've seen in recent times belongs to a member here.... Qik120why.

It had a RB20 in it & was running 11's... Until it blew up .
Now he's shoehorning a RB30 w/ a RB26 head into it...... Now THAT's a sleeper!

Thats thing would be a bit of a hand full!

There was also a Blue Gemmi here that had a RB30et installed (not legal). Saw it at a street meet when it was only rb30e and it still went great!
