30 years or older is the definition given by the transport department for special rego so yeah you're in by a mile

No, I think only from '65 and older, but definitely nothing in the '70's.

In NSW and I think all of Australia its anything older than 30 years old.

In the USA, I have long heard an informal definition of 30 years old. This is used by many car clubs for "classic" car shows. However I don't think there is an official definition (in USA). In Washington State, there is a special one-time fee license plate for "Collector Vehicle" for vehicles " at least 30 years old".

"The Classic Car Club of America maintain that 1948 is the last year for the true classics" (wikipedia).

Also note that "Vintage" and "Classic" have different definitions.
