Hi 1200 freaks,

Thought I'd drop in again for an update on how White Zombie did this past summer with the lithium ion battery pack. Our best ET was an 11.466 @ 114.08, with a best 60 ft. of 1.58 sec. With only one chance to blast through the 11.5 mark before being thrown off the track due to no roll cage & firesuit (we have both now), we cranked the controller power up a little too much and had a very bad launch and loss of traction at high speed as well. With suspesnsion mods and a new higher powered lithium pack, we plan on running 10's in '08.

no that is not a red light. i assume you think it is .400 for the perfect light. it changed to zero a few years ago, which is whatit should be. .4 just bring confusion to the uneducated drag racer.

CAR: 1980 Sunny B310 (Body std)
MOTOR: A12 (bored to 1286cc. mild cam. A12 GX head)
GEARBOX: 4 speed (std)
DIFF: 3.889 (std/open)
INDUCTION: 2 x Dellorto 40s (32mm chokes)
EXHAUST: Extractors and 2 inch system
WHEELS/TYRES: Bridgestone Eagers 185/60x13 on 6" alloys

60ft time: -
1/4 mile:16.537
MPH:83.56

This was my roadcar back in 1989 and used for club events. Severe wheelspin. An A14 or A15 would have better suited the relatively big and heavy B310 but back then they were hard to come by (in my price range). Fastest I ever managed to get it to go was 6700rpm in 1:1 top (revved freely to 8k through gears) whereas I'm told a 1200 with a good engine will pull 7500rpm (less weight and drag/frontal area I guess and normally on 12"s back then).

Same engine later transplanted into (much lighter) 1200 Coupe racecar which was a second quicker despite option 1 C/R box - which has very tall 1st gear (2.169:1) and best suited to rolling starts. Could not spin wheels (race slicks) - just the clutch!
