For the WA boys, they know my car.

Story is.
Always wanted a twin system exhaust system, really just for the note and noise level. Couldnt justify it to myself yet.

Just bought a toolbox for under the tray, and the existing system wont fit. (Damnit)

So now its just
should I go for the stacks, lake pipes, or standard twin system out the back.

And then its the size of pipe. Its 2" from the manifilds, so the reality is 2" all the way back is the cheapest and anything bigger wont make for better performance, but still considering 2" to muffler then 3" out to the tail pipe.

So many decisions.

PS : Donk is 6.5l V8 diesel.
hmmm torque....

I have an idea. Plum a snail in there somewhere, then have a nice 3" dump pipe out the side.

Stacks on a tray back look cool but a nice set of dumps out the back also look tough. I would go the rear exiting exhaust cause thats me preferance.

I also think 2in, even though its a twin system is a little small for that size donk. I would step up to atleast twin 2.5in from the manifolds.

Yeah waould love to go for the snail option, but aparently the clutches dont cope well with them so as much as I want to, I probalt wont go that option.

The issue with the manifolds is that you cant get anything bigger for them unless you go custom, and thats big dollars in which case i would buy the turbo kit.

so i am stuck with 2" manifolds with 2" pipe to at least the gearbox due to space.

the most 'responsible' option is to go for the dump pipes just past the rear axle, but thats no fun.

dump pipes just in front of the rear wheels perhaps?

Sounds like its the leg burners at the moment.

Reckon that ill go 2.5" to the mufflers then 3" to the dump pipes.

Due to a bit of a scam, I have been given $500 to buy my exhaust system, so if I can keep it near that, then it means more money for Daisy.

Yikes. I hope you own oil stocks.

2" or 2.5" should be right. How much HP is the engine rated at? That's a key factor.

Yeah I know it seems like a lot, but it is actually slightly cheaper then the original Nissan oil burner that was in it. The TD42 is a strong realible motor, but slow, gutless and a juice guzzler. i used to get around 18-20l per 100km.

the chevy gives me around 16-18 litres per 100km plus the extra torque is awsome. the car drives like it should.

Check out this for the factory specs...
brusnwick diesels
these are the guys i got to fit it in.

It was definatly worth it, and it was about the same money to get the original motor rebuilt and squeezed for some more ponies.
