ok guys i know its been asked about 3000 times before but there dosent seam to be any clear info about converting to 5 stud

what my thoughts where maby i could use a set of stanza struts i think there the ones to use for wider wheel at the front ??? and a ford trailer hub to bolt on using Datsun bearings to give me the 5x114.3 stud pattern i have a couple of twin turbo soarer's in my yard i can rape for brakes and rotors but the suspension design and hubs are way to different to mod on but i think i can make the brakes fit ezy enough

or can you just do the 5 stud s13/s14 strut conversion from the turbo s13 im really not sure

i want to do this for the larger brakes and also i have 3 different sets of 5x114.3 mags i can use on the ute i removed all but one stud on the front of my ute today to have a look lol

I'd look at going the silvia route using s14/15 front struts hubs brakes etc. I had s13 fronts mocked up in mine but hadn't sorted the steering out so i'd assume s14 would work the same. I changed my struts for 280zx in the end so didn't make it work. S13 bottom arms bolted in by drilling out the lower arm mount points in the cross member. The s13 bottom arms increase track by about 50-60mm PER side not a big deal if you are using fwd offset rims but i heard a rumour s12 bottom arms could be used to reduce the track increase. but i guess you want more concrete info before you start spending money :)

datsun 240/260amd 280c hubs are 5 stud and should go straight onto the stanza struts, forget if i found out if the bearing were definatly the same...but a trip to bursons or something like that should be able to tell you

discs still bolt on from behind so that wheel clearance over brakes will be better....but apart from that your on your own with brakes

been meaning to get a set of hubs and figure out what kinda brakes setups can be done, but havnt yet found a C mobile to steal hubs from

what stud pattern are the 240-280cs? Can you get wheels to fit them?

so 240c 260c or 280c hubs you think sound like a good plan

they are 5x114.3 like all other nissan 5 stud stuff one would think

unless for some strange reason nissan thought it would be good to change it

if i was to do a 5 stutd conversion they would be the hubs that i would be looking at to base it around

ok ill be trying this setup its been done before maby down the track i will re drill them for 114.3 but the mags in the pic are both commodore and ford stud pattern so it don't matter atm

im spewing because i recently scrapped a set of commodore rotors that would have been perfect for this oh well

Can't say I know much about five stud conversions, but since I sold the Stanza struts already I thought I'd do some research for you.

There's an SR20 powered 1200 up in QLD using EF Falcon disc/hubs on 180B struts. Calipers are VL turbo. EF's would be a dime a dozen at any wreckers so I doubt a set of front brakes would command top dollar, and last time I went to pick and payless there were four 180B's in stock. Might just be worthwhile to grab some and have a play around to see if you can make the combo work.

There would be plenty of advantages with this combo. It would definitely suit your rims, the 180B struts are a better fit height wise (and lighter), and there is a magnitude of aftermarket performance braking parts to suit the E series falcs (high quality slotted rotors are relatively inexpensive).

thats exactly the one i would have suggested for intergrated hub/disc setup

xf discs would also work
EA, EB and ED ones however wont work as they have a different wheel bearing setup
