seam welding makes a huge difference to overall vechicle strength and flex.

depends what hp you are putting through but i have seen 200kw put through a stock coupe chassis with not much flex and no cracking after long term. They are strong and stiff little monocoque. I would imagine the ute being just as strong if not stronger. This is why the 1200 is such a good little racecar and drag car.
if you are rallying then its alot harder on the car and I would recommend seam welding, otherwise I would leave it and have fun.

I seam welded mine to the back of the front chassis rails so I guess that's to the back of the drivers seat. I was so sick of welding up at the floor that I chose not to do the rear end

I can't give you a before and after opinion but mine regularly lifts the front wheels off the ground. i'm sure it's got something to do with incorrect suspension setup but the chassis is atleast stiff enough to do it!

I made this up, it attaches to the tray floor, the rear wheel arches and runs through the cab attaching to the rear fire wall, cab floor and the front wheel arch. It also doubles up as side intrusion protection.

i do like the roll bar but would like to use half what you have used scott. as in stop the bar at the height of the tray. (at about the point of the middle bar). please correct me if im wrong but wouldnt my way still have similar strength maybe a bit less. o and of course it would no longer protect against roll overs
