after coming back from jp okinawa and looking at some magazines i found this link and would like to know if anyone has better pics of the coilover setups here?

not interested really in the strut setup also pictured but its all K stuff so worth discovering.

there is another here

are you going to switch to coilovers D?

I am sure that you would be able to get a coilover to work, as they sell the same type of thing for light cars like clubmans, etc. You could modify the spring rate by the angle and distance along the lower swingarm.

It is interesting that the coilover is attached to the tie rod, I would have thought you would have gone to the swingarm... any thoughts?

cheers

Yes no more restricting leaf style crossmember thats the plan.
Perhaps a smidgen of weight saving if done right with a well thoughtout replacement, then almost anything will almost fit darn it!
Especially tall engines that when tilted still give issues.
Ive bought some coilovers that handle 300kg each side so just looking for ideas.

Its not on the tie rod, its on the standard lower shock mount, just been rose jointed in.

So whos gonna give it a go first? Doesnt look too hard to do really!

yep I am really clever in case you havn't noticed.

Sounds good D, have you chosen your spring rates yet?

Also, do you think there would be enough travel to take a 1000 rallying? I wonder if this has ever been done?

Thanks Chris for the images

Here is the idea and the spring rates are totally adjustable with these little suckers as they are fully adjustable.

Using rectangular tubing with re-inforcing in the right areas will allow better clearing for taller engines and using thick solid washers welded thoughtfully then the mountings can be secure.
