well im planing out an a15 turbo project
so far what i have come up with
a15 block
full rebuild
copper head gasket?? are they readily availible or do i a custom one made?
std bore, pistons and still thinking of ring possibilities (any suggestions?)
balance job on all spining parts
cam? sugestions please

a12 gx head
replace anything that needs it
L16 valves
port job polish etc
anything else that would be advised?

ignition will be a modified ford EDIS unit

will be using frankthedolphintrainers manifold
so im going t25 or t28 or hybrid? which is beter? input please
thinking of quad throttle bodies off an 07 yamaha r1 or would i be better off with one single thrttle body?
and the main question what injector size would be ideal?

computer will be a megasquirt II which allows the use of the ford EDIS ign unit (thought i might add if any didnt know how i would be controling the spark )
please post your thoughts on this and any suggestions

i wouldn't bother with the A12GX head, just use the A15 head, get some double valve springs and go from there.
There is very little benefit in porting a turbo head.

The T25 will work well, but if you want something a bit more top heavy then go with the T28.

The quad throttle bodies will require a custom manifold i presume? Once again, with a turbo there is very little benefit of going qtb's. but it's up to you.

Copper head gasket probably won't be neccessary, if you are looking at running some big psi then get a thicker nismo one.

Injectorts? 300cc/min... the CA18DET injectors will be enough. Not sure on their exact size

hey there bud, ive just finished a turbo a series what i used is a nismo graphite head gasket which are available from (bige) on this site, as for copper it going to be nothing but a headache, camshaft just get a turbo grind from and cam specialist camtech have some good ones, the head doesnt really need to be ported much if any when going turbo charged but valves are a good itea to go bigger, ignition system i used a magna dizzy with crank trigger i can get these for about $200 and they fit staight in once you change the cog, i use a t28 off a gtir and if anything i probably want to go bigger so all those people saying they will be to laggy are wrong, go single throttle body, you can source them quite easily, also i use 550cc injectors there probably a little of an over kill but there are heaps of them and were cheap. good luck its not cheap.

well i have a gx motor it could do with a rebuild so i was thinking of using the head. but when i get the a15 i will rip the head off and see if its a open chamber or closed im assuming the open may be better for turbo as you will have lower c/r
also i spose ca18 throttle body and injectors would be the go and with the plenum there is a formula to work out the ideal size of it does anyone know this formula?

done quite a bit of research on the plenum formula... for n/a it is 80-100% of engine displacement. for turbo it is 2x egine displacement. so for my dads punched out 1.5l i designed a 3l plenum. bare in mind that if you want to be real precise this includes the runners as well. also put trumpets (bell mouths inside the chamber for better air transition)

maybe use a et pulsar efi system since the dizzy can be fitted from e to a series shouldnt the rest be easy. the e15et computer is an easy one to setup.

nahh going no distributer and using the ford edis system and will use the megasquirt computer as you can custom tune it and sort out the spark easier

I'm using the green Denzo injectors from a 4AGE Toyota engine. as is, They are good for about 65% duty at 15PSI 6500PRM with 3bar Fuel pressure.

I am now runnging a fuel reformer as well, which brings it down to about 40~45%

ok guys just another question for anyone that is runing (or has run) a t28 or t25 on an a series roughly what rpm would it hit full boost? and what was the extent of the work on the motor?
and where can you get low comp forgies?
