Maddat.com.au make a hole strut replacement and allso just udjustable coilover base. and the s13 silvia seem to be the break of chois, or girlock but I think there not so easy to finde?

if its just for street driving then id suggest going the S13 brake swap, look on the wiki its been covered a fair bit so there should be plenty of info

maddat, datsport, techno toy tuning all do DIY coilover setups, but i think they all suit 51mm strut tube. so will need to run bigger struts, stanza 180b 200b something like that

i agree seems to be the easiest and there is alwys plenty of help and parts available, i personally went for a similar setup to that of maddat but i am going to be running a ca18det.

for your $$ and simplicity (even tho im not sure exactly how it works) i would go the s13 brake setup

i have got 180b struts and disk brakes. with race brake fluid, sprint/hillclimb pads and the rear dust cover cut/bent to scoop air into the brakes. cost 180b struts $cheap, pads $160, fluid $35. these perform very well with no brake fade and can easily lock up a set of r comps if to aggresive. maybe try to fix up what you have you will be suprised how much more you can get out of them.

dude, if you're going to be using it on the street with an a series that isnt modified then theres not much point in going the silvia brake upgrade. Go for 120y struts and brakes or kb110 struts and brakes. MUCH lighter than s13 setup, wont cost you dick all, stops a hell of a lot better than the drums and is easy peasy.
Now if you were starting to put lots of power through the car and found that you were going to need lots of brakes then go for the silvia otherwise you're just dragging around unncessary unsprung weight.

wouldnt say you need lots of power to run S13 brakes...they are only what 250mm discs after all

and 120y discs are hardly worth the effort of bolting in

i would just personally go the s13 so if later on decides to go for more power (eg. ca/sr/fj/etc) the brakes are adequate. but i do agree with you also cheater if he has no plans for power upgrade anywhere down the track. up to him i guess :)

if you want 120Y struts, you can come and take mine away for a 6 pack. northside of Brisbane, close to Gateway arterial.

just saying pigdog, there no real point besides the novelty of large brakes (which they definately are for a b110) if its going to be standard everywhere else. I run kb110 struts (cut and welded into coilovers) and brakes on my gb120 and they work fantastic. New brake pads are cheeaaapp as chips and do a lot of good too. Would never desire to go to s13 brakes on the ute like i have on the vb110 as its just a daily driver which never sees enough stress to warrent the upgrade, unlike my wagon which is going to get frequently thrashed. Up to him i guess, either way you are going to get very good value for money and effort, 120y or s13
