Hi all!

My mate is about to buy himself a '74 Datsun 120Y with 50.000 km's on the clock, original and in near mint condition. It has a 4 speed gearbox. Does anyone know of a 5 speed gearbox that fits this car? Or ways to make a 5 speed box fit easily into it? What is the name of the gearboxes that originally sits in these cars? (Like toyota's 5-speed box was named T50 for the T-family engines) :)

The easiest would be an original 5 speed rwd box for the A12 engine. But I reckon it's pretty hard to find? Like the K engine that sits in the Corollas of the same time. The K50 gearbox is a rare sight, especially in Europe.

In advance, thanks ^^

In Europe, I would expect the 1979-1982 B310 (120Y/140Y/150Y) 5-speed to be the most common. Let me know if I'm wrong

These fit any B110 or B210 or B310 vehicle. For more details, see http://wiki.datsun1200.com/index.php/5-Speeds

Only late facelift B310 coupes with A15's here had the 5 speed which is why they are so hard to find.
