should be a straight bolt in almost unless its hydrualic clutch then a bit of work will be needed
and also might need an adaptor for the gearbox mount

Changing to a 5-speed will not improve city economy much if any. It will change high-speed economy for the better. You should be able to go from about 30 miles/gallon highway to 35 mpg or thereabouts.

Datsun B210 with 5-speed (single carburetor model) got up to 50 mpg in USA specification with 5-speed, but only 40 with 4-speed.

i ve done that it is a str8 bolt on. my clutch is cable. on high speed the engine will rev less so you will be doing 60 - 70 mph
when the engine is at 1500-1700rpm.

remeber the reverse is instead of the first
the first is at the place where normaly the second is
the second is where normaly the third is etc etc.

the gear ratios are slightly different. and aceleration will be a littlebit different.

Dear Bin-Boy & Sumith,
I am Ilango from India. I have a Premier 118NE, which is Fiat124 with a Nissan A12 power train. I always had dream of having an overdrive. Could you please help me out with any leads on a 5 speed 60 series RWD transmission?
I am fine with importing it to India.
Thanks in advance.
-Ilango

Fiat 124 with A series engine please any pictures?

You are lucky with that car that you can run much bigger diameter tyres than we can, have you tried that first? eg. 185/80 series 14inch in good road conditions or 185LT R14 lite truck tyres for nasty road surfaces.
