Hey mate,
Just Go the Maddat stuff.
No mucking around with measurements, guessing etc.
An engineer will see that it's come from a reputable company (if thats your plan).
All too easy!

My advise anyway...

Maddat Website -
http://www.maddat.com.au/

Crossmember - (small image sorry)
http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=18304

and No, I don't work for them. I Just like their products.

Just cut the old mounts off and sit the engine and box in place. Then measure. That way you know its where you want it.

thanks mate, ..... ive been on your buildup through wiki theres sum good ideas there, ive seen this pic ....

the back one more likely be the better one, have ya a pic of that on its own,
why did you cut the member lower so less mod to the tunnel?,
i was strictly told not to cut the member out, only to change the mounting

did anyone say the crossmember with the cut out was engineerable?

heres my CA one, all i did was sit the engine in the bay after the stock mounts were cut off, then make up some cardboard templates of what the new mounts would look like
then transfer that to some decent sized steel plate and check again that it all fits
then tack them together and sit the engine back on, if its still where you want it then weld it all up

took me a couple of hours to do as i wanted the engine as low as it could go so that it sorta matched where the L series is sitting now
