From a recent newspaper article (East London-South Africa)

A DELIVERY man driving a small bakkie collided with a bull and was forced to drive about 15km to a local police station – with the animal securely lodged on its roof.
After the motorist rammed into the bull on the R345 near Peddie at around 6am yesterday, the bovine somersaulted in the air and landed on top of the bakkie, alive but dazed – and trapped in the bakkie’s roof carrier.
It later turned out that the unfortunate bull suffered a broken leg and had to be put down.

A crane was used to remove it from the top of the damaged bakkie, said Johan Jooste of Ngqushwa traffic services yesterday. The SPCA was also called to assess the beast.
Jooste, with 27 years experience as a traffic official, said he had never seen anything like it on the job.
“ There was this (bull) on top of a roof of a tiny bakkie … it’s as if it was saying, ‘this is my lift’,” he said after dropping off pictures with the Dispatch.
Jooste said after the driver reported the case to the Peddie police, he simply left his bakkie at the police station, jumped into a waiting vehicle and went about his business.
His bakkie also may not live to see another day.

Now you can understand why it is difficult to find some parts in this country from time to time. People rather kill there Datsuns with livestock.

Anything that comes to a stop along THAT stretch of road will be stripped down to the bare bones within hours - whether its a bakkie or a cow. My mate pranged my work ute into a cow on the same road, luckily he got it towed out before anything happened.
