What exactly is this: '81 Nissan Van

Is it a Vanette and is it likely to have an A15 or anything useful in it? Check out the pic, basically some Scandinavians own it and are going home on Friday, if it's not sold it'll be thrashed and burned.

I think those use a Z series, at least in the U.S. If so, the remote water pump might come in handy.

Looks like the Toyota Hi ace to me, I've seen them in South America, never in US.

okay,looks like a vanette,easiest way to tell is to lift the passenger seat up,there's a catch on the front,& it hinges backwards.under the seat there's a gold coloured sticker,this will tell you if it's an a12 or an a15.look for either a12s or a15s.if it's an a12,it'll have a 4.889:1 h165 diff,if it's a a15,it'll probably have a 4.11:1 h190.

I never saw an early 80s Nissan van in the USA before ...

Good question. I think it means "carburetted" but not sure. The parts books sometimes leave it off.

remote water pump???, tell me more please,

the "s" stands for carburetter for obvious reasons???

and if it has an a-12 or a-15 it will have a h-190 diff, the a-12 had 4.875:1 ratio the a-15 a 4.11:1 ratio, it is 90mm wider than standard 1200 diffs (requires flares or fwd offset rims to fit)
