Always wondered, what is Fanta injection?
You can call me an idiot, but I don't know what it means (not the idiot bit!)

Check out the below link. This goes way back to when I first joined the site. Some Kiwi guys were injecting Fanta for a performace gain and it was a bit of a joke.

clicky to forum page

Hi,

The first topic I found:

http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/v ... ost_id=2921#forumpost2921

way back on 2001, I can't remember if that was the start of it all.

Whooh, this topic is out there!
Good to see a joke last this long, I wonder if the original post was a joke or not!

throwing fanta into the search bar will bring up a whole swag of comments and suggest performace inproments.

The believe some have replace their oil filled coils with fanta filled units for better spark.

I think the californians found that the grape flavour of fanta gave better atomisation of fuel due mainly to their specific weather conditions.

Ill admit I have toyed with the idea, but still unsure of what path to follow.

I mean you can go overboard. Imagine, fanta coil, quads at that, fanta injection to help prevent detonation and lubrication of valves and stems, fanta oil additives for les frioction. The list of options are endless, but you could unleash a beast upon the world that opens up a gateway to hell. Or nothing might happen. thats the chance you take.

fanta in the wiki

Chris Lott invented it. He used to drink a little before posting, resulting in some crazy ideas being shared.

Some of the threads must have disappeared, or were started when datsun1200 club was a 'Yahoo Club', and not it's own website.

That was back in the days when only people under 30 were on the internet, and everyone knew how to have a laugh.

The one that worked best for me was Fanta cooling. It lowered the temp 1 degrees compared to drinking nothing. It never caught on with the JDM crowd because orange crush was not as effective.

Speaking of specific weather conditions, I like to pour some into the radiator to help with heating during the winter.

Sort of the opposite of WaterWetter.
