diesel turbos are tiny, so your average one would suit a small 4 cylinder

the turbo should have a wastegate in it already, if not it will just keep boosting and probably kill something
you need a wastegate to limit the boost level

r31 rear brakes are pretty easy to adapt to ute diffs, just need to slightly modify the stock r31 caliper bracket and it all bolts on

This is where you need to plan your turbo setup carefully.

If you size the turbo carefully, no wastegate is needed. You could rev the A12 to the max, and if the turbo is large enough, it won't be too much boost.

On the other hand, you'll get a more response system by fitting a smaller turbo, with a wastegate to prevent overboost.

Like I said, nothing you hear is true, and yet it is all true. It depends on the other details.

I suggest a Gt1649, as from any Merc Vito, they are very very well suited to the A14\A15.

Appreciable boost already from 2K5 Rpm's and reaching full boost (1.5B) at just over 3000rpm. It can maintain this boost all the way through 6k9RPM on an A15.

Dump valves: you don't need them. that is correct, that is if you like snapping turbo shafts like they where made from chocolate...

on a well chosen turbo, for the size engine you run, you will most definitely be wanting a wastegate.... having the turbo so big, that the engine is incapable of spooling it to over-boost conditions, well why bother, Just get a VTEC then... all the lag and no over-boost.. guaranteed :) (no offence there, DD)
