No! Its a secret. hehe. Nah, i will give u a run down on what work has been done to it-

A15 block bored 120thou, flattop pistons, A14 crank, head has been ported max, bigger valves, double valve springs, big cam (dont have specs), twin 45 webbers. Aprox 1509cc. Thats
basically it. Andrew Denniss (CA18det_man) could probably tell u more about it in detail as it was his old race engine. I've only driven it twice since i started it and it sounds really
lumpy under 3 grand but after it hits the cam she screams right up till 6500rpm. I know it can rev to at least 8 grand or so but i didnt push it that hard simply cause is was defening with
open headers, no carpet or sound proofing just bare metal! I could see the end of the headers thro the gearstick hole!

Once i get it all tuned 100% and with the new brakes in, i will go and get a Dyno'ed out at Croydon Autosports and send the sheets in for u guys.

What's the purpose of the A14 crank in the A15.

It used to be in a A14 block but it had thin walls and cracked in one cylinder after a while the A15 block cam around at the right price so it was bored to 120thou and all my good gear
bolted in. I have found the A14 to be a better engine as i have had a A15 40 though over same head cam ect the A14 just seamed to go better for some reason maybe it was because the bore
is the same size as the stroke dont know. I do know that it goes very well I miss the old A series it was a great klittle engien and very competitive upto 2000cc 2e(club car class that I
run it in. She still holds a record at tamworth from over 3years ago :)
I miss webbers but love the CA18det power.

anyone help me if i'm wrong, but i think it is to lower the stroke so that the compression drops for
a turbo motor

What it is Andrew, is the shorter stroke of the A14 has a much better power band than the longer stroked A15. When I built an A15, it wasn't near as quick through the gears as
the A14 motor. More CC's means more HP but if they are obtained with a longer stroke, it just plain doesn't rev as quick.

Yeah this is what i thought aswell. The A14 crank basically wants to rev harder than the A15 crank. I initially wanted an A15 engine but i soon realized that bigger cranks dont allways
produce the HP. Its the right combination of alot of things that produce the HP. Not saying that A15 race engines dont go, i've seen some A15's hammer along. I knew that Andrews A14
was a very competitive engine and had alot of track time so thats why i got that instead. And i must say, im very impressed so far :)

Another thing to think about on the A14 vs A15 argument is that a longer stroke will yield more torque. It is probably negligible, but there nonetheless. A shorter stroke will rev
quicker and higher. Higher RPMs makes more horsepower. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you want torque go with the A15, if you want top end power go with the smaller crank
engines.

That is true. What would u rather in a 730kg car? RPM or Torque? I know what i would want. Why do u think rotarys go hard. Theres not much torque but
a shitload of RPM!

Scott Davo, I'm asuming you're asking me which I'd prefer. The short answer is both. Like I said, the torque difference between the a15 and the a14 won't be much. I'd probably opt
for the a14. I agree that the rotary is a hot ticket but I like to keep things in the family. I'll only put Datsun/Nissan engines in my cars.

Dimlight, no way was i saying to throw a rotary in your 1200. Just comparing the rotor revability to the A14 revability. I agree that engines should come from Nissan/Datsun,
not Mazda or Toyota. It sorta wrecks the car having a non nissan/datsun engine. No point in owning a datto if u dont want datto power!
