If this is going to be the daily drive then put the a15 out of the ute in it and a CA in the ute. Keep the faster and more worked one as the weekender.

Exactly what I was thinking ___1200ute, but whatever floats your boat. I have a CA powered 1200 and there's no way I would want to have an A-series powered one for a 'fun' car.

Why not do an L series. You say you want a daily driver, but I think It would always be a temptation to up the power with a CA18 turbo. Maybe an L18 with a Stanza 5 speed, lots of torque for traffic, with a bit of power. the engine rewiring is simple, no computers needed, & at the moment there's lots off people doing them at the moment, so answers & solutions to problems are readily available. Just a thought.

I've got no problem with having an a-series as a fun car in general but when you have both an a-series car and a CA18 powered one it doesn't make as much sense to me, but that's just me.

That was my thoughts Lachie, i couldn't imagine having the fast one as a weekday hack and the slower one for the fun times.

thanx very much for all of your oppinions!
i know what you mean by having a fun weekender....
the coupe will not be as tidy as the ute, but it will be still respectable... that is my aim anyway, hopefully i wont get carried away again.
Dad and my uncle dont want me to butcher the ute as all ov the front end and so on is all done...
so i think i will start to collect bits for a CA18DET, 1200 coupe :)
im thinking a metcllic blue with silver bits, ie grill and so on??
im looking for a motor if anyone knows of where to get one?, or has one? stanza front end? R31 diff?
cheers
Dan
