upgrade the wiring with the high beam straight from the battery through a relay triggered by the old high beam wire.
some of these new globes can suck the juice.

No idea how to do this, I am just a novice...

some are just plug in and play like mine but some need relays on the original wiring but isnt much
.

Whats the part number datski for your h4's and where did you get them from if you don't mind me asking? I would prefer plug and play like yours since I am afraid to custom wire anything. Cheers.

all H4s are just straight plug in, but with most of them it is best to run headlight relays so you dont burn out the switch or fuse box. and you also get more power to the lights

Why not used Halogen sealed beams? Bolt right in, inexpensive, and a lot brighter than the stock headlights. And street legal.

Whichever way you go, consider aiming the headlights. That can make a huge difference too.

Note that the original Datsun 1200 specification 6012 headlamp is only 50W/40W. You can substitute the brighter 6014 which is 60W/50W. The brighter 6014 is as inexpensive as $3. See RockAuto headlights for Datsun 1200

Recommended is the Halogen H6024 (65W/35W). Halogen is a brighter light, and now available in shades of blue, gold, white. Street-legal in USA.

All fit in the stock Datsun 1200.

The street legality of my Headlights is the wattage.
I always carry a spare set of legal wattage h4 bulbs in case I need to avoid a red defect (must be towed until fixed) if caught at night.
