went to bunnings, got a heap of them and only 1 t peice, and 10 hose clamps for under $40. bargain.

just have to grind the threading off them and they are same as the $30 one from the auto shop. same casting marks too! surely must cost more to thread them then cast them without.

nah got the good hose clamps not the cruddy 10 for $2 ones.

just went out and had a play- will get away with 1 t piece and maybe 1 or 2 90 deg bends, depends how forgiving the hose will bend once heater is back in.

The Datsun 1200 heater hose is specified as 1/2 inch inside diameter. What is the metric equivalent for that?

Oh -- and it is special thin-wall hose.

did find plastic bends but not suitable for hot liquids.

Might try some 1/2 hose as there are heaps of fittings for 1/2 inch and 3/8 available- even brass air compressor fittings for $3 each suitable for hot liquids.

5/8 is a pain of a size.

I use 1/2" copper pipe fittings for 90-degree bends. Cheap as -- also they come in 5/8 size too.

The 'reducing' style is 5/8 outside diameter on one end.
