Hey Hamza,
VDO do a few nice designs, they are expensive though. And I guess you're sorta limited to the small fascia types, the one that Kent has is about as big as you want to go. The next sizes up will start looking like you've attached your living room clock to the dash.
There was an orange 4dr (was for sale a couple of times this year) and it had a huge monster tachometer mounted and it really did look ridiculous even more so as it was attached to stock A12 I think.
I found a OHDEN Japanese brand Tacho at a swap meet and then bought a NOS one after that, both were cheap ($20.00 and $50.00) and both suited the chroming and general style of the 1000. They are well made too (I wouldn't go as far to say they are high quality but certainly well made- No longer available by the way, I think they stopped making them many,many years ago).
EDIT: Most of the small, compact tachos (that are cheap and have a decent rev range) are associated with snowmobiles and ski-doo's, eBay Canada is your best bet as they have them for cheap. Postage should be about $8.00 - $12.00 US here is an example (yeah not the best example but you get the idea):
eBay Canada Ski doo TachoMaybe have a quick search, key dimensions are across the fascia and I guess the depth is somewhat important.
At the moment I do not know where to mount it. I was leaning toward mounting it under the dash under the light switch or on the other side but it's too low to be a useful dash-instrument as the line of site is out. Next optins are low-down on the pillar or on the steering wheel column like Kent has done.
Here are some pictures of it, very compact with a chrome lip and fairly plane fascia;
