Hi Guys,

i know there was past discussion on Errol but would appreciate if anyone knows if he is OK. He has been a huge supporter to many of us and it would be good to find out how he is doing and wish him well.

Rob

From what I heard he is fine.
Benny still keeps in touch with him on a frequent basis so he would know exactly. Would be great to have him back on the forum.

Yep. I hope he's doing ok.
I also don't want his fancy datsun engine parts getting into the wrong hands!

If anyone knows how he's doing, it'd be good to know.

I spoke to Feral today, I call him every couple of weeks, he's doing well considering.

As for his fancy Datsun parts, I'm buying some good bits of him to make sure they stay in good hands, I know of another member from here who has got some unique stuff of him.

I think he's to busy with his vege patches to get involved with any forums

Hmmmmm, I wonder.
Hopefully the new owner is somebody who is truly worthy of it.

Errol has some serious issues with arthritis & isn't able to do some of the things that we all take for granted.
None the less he is geting on with life & has embarked on an asset reduction program, so some very lucky people are being invited to discuss the aquisition of some of his treasures.

His body isn't as limber as it once was, but his mind is as wise & as active as ever it was.

It is good to hear the Errol is still sharp, but a shame to hear that someone so into turning spanners has been hit with arthritis.

As long as the new owner looks after the valuable parts and doesn't leave them out in the weather. I'm all for it.

I've still got another 50 or 60 years on earth. Maybe one day I'll own some fine parts like this.

According to a reliable source the engine was to be split into two elements with the cylinder head going onto a race engine while the rest was to remain together & to go to a different owner.

As luck would have it, the cylinder head will now remain with the engine.
My informant tells me that it will all be mated to a close ratio 56A trans [F5C65A], & after some minor reconfiguration, is to be installed in a registerable Datsun car.

Apparently it will likely get aftermarket EFI on a dual sidedraught manifold in an attempt to gain some drivebility with the Tomei cam. The mechanical tach drive off the timing chest will not be utilised.

In a previous configuration it was, I believe, regarded as the 'Endurance' engine for a F3/Formula Pacific open wheeler & restricted to a little over 11,000 + RPM.

The 'Sprint' engine must have been awesome.
