I once hit 7200rpm with my old a12, it had extractors, home made dick smith electronic ignition and a down draught weber. 2nd gear and a very long straight.

4400? stocko motors should be able to sit on 5500 all day and bounce up to 7500, i think with gx double vaulve springs they rev to 8500

This was a few years back now, i seem to remember it being advanced slightly, but not too sure. I tryed several times to get it over the 7200 mark after the rust got the better of it and it was good for nothing other than parts, but never had any luck. Maybe if i played around more with carb jetting and timing it could have gone further.

I'll tell you what mine does after this weekend :)
But if it starts pinging due to my tuning I'll not rev it hard :(
