Typically when the rear end is sitting that low, it pays to have the chassis "C"ed to give extra room for the diff to move up further. Good suspension setup is about maintaining adequate suspension travel. When the vehicle hits the bump stops, the car is more likely to skip across the road [lose control], instead of obsorbing the bump. The suspension reponds to the bumps a bit like a sin wave, but if the travel hits the "stops" the bottom of the wave is effectively cut square. The stored energy is typically transferred from vertical motion to a lateral one [not desired].

However, I do like the look of very low b110 /210's on phat 13's

Good advice there and it's true. My car bottoms out because the shocks are very tired,, and when the speed is up it's a wee bit scary when it bottoms out.

Here is how I had mine a while ago, lots more potential to drop it lower.

Looks good! They were too wide to drop it any more, I did drop it another inch and a half after that but they rubbed like all buggery, needed more stretch. Didn't want to flare guards.

Someone should upload pics of Berts old race KB10. That was tough.

my ute has

helper springs removed from the packs ,sedan bottom springs flipped on ute packs ,then 3 inch blocks aswell ,standard skockys in the rear

front end has king springs "low" (pfft sits higher thand standard springs did) chopped 2 coils out of them ,and im thinking of going lower ,but ill need to change my extractors cos they hit on the ground when i go over even small driveways ,and they scrape coming in the driveway at dads shop ,so i have to do it at speed cos otherwise ill get stuck again haha if i go at it when im rolling it doesnt hit ,but if i go down id realy slow i get stuck ,same when coming out too !

hey guys. its been a while now buut i did it!

the 120y was sold off to make room for a 1200 coupe. i'll throw some photo's up.

i used 2 inch blocks on the rear and just cut springs up front. I have sourced a pair of rear 200b springs for the front but just havent had time to throw them in.

it looks heaps better in person then in the photo's. It is a bit ruffer so im looking into that.

If i choose the "perfect" golf mk1 inserts, do i need to use coil overs or will they fit into cut struts?

how/where do you cut the struts?

If i were to put the 200b springs in now, cut them to the right hight for the uncut struts, then, in a few weeks change the inserts and cut the struts will the springs be the right size? Or should i just go it all in a few weeks and deal wit the bumpy ride which is what i am leading towards.
