Probally wont get much of a response, but dont really know who to ask about this one.

Been offered a 1974 Yamaha RD350, It is a two cylinder 2 stroke road bike. Bit of a cult bike of that era.

It is two owner, un registered, All original, Excellent condition, new clutch and electrics.

What do you reckon is a fair price for one of these?

None on Ebay, but parts arnt cheap, So I thinking 2-3 k

If it's in excellent original condition it would be worth anything up to $5000. One of the blokes in our club bought one for 2K and spent a bit over 4K restoring it. If you can get it for that , grab it.

It all depends on the exact condition and how complete and original it is. Reasonable condition, unrestored, complete and running could fetch as high as $8K. But it depends entirely on more than 2 people wanting it I guess. I've seen some H1's go for more than that but the RD in the pre 75 bracket are always on the rise in $$$

Pix added, all original, no after market parts

So whats a fair offer on this one?

Seen a few on Ebay that have been chopped up into cafe racers and the RD350 parts are fetching good $$$.

Need to justify this purchase somehow.

Just emailed this to one of the Yamaha guru's in the club - wrong color for a 74, no decals on sidecover has top pic got a crashbar on engine and bottom not. His price would be 2K tops. He suggests you google Yamaha RD350 1974 and have a good read also check engine and frame numbers before you pay too much.

Yeah he got the crash bar still, Going to go and have a good look, from my experience its 70's vintage, due to the layout of the decals on the tank and the front fender design.

I agree with you about the decals missing on the air cleaner covers
