You could do a ve head conversion on a rwd sr20 block. There is a p11 head forsale on nissansilvia.com. There are a few places that make all the conversion pieces now.

a14 crank/ovalport head/cam,32/36 weber, you keep the a12 engine number, keeps it all legal, no engineering mods needed,nice & simple, 1400cc inside a12,way to go.

A series either 14 or 15 little bit of a port clean up and twin webbers relatively cheap and bloody reliable, i have this exact set up and it puts an eco-tec v6 to shame

It's a bit late but I wanted to chime in, bige touched on some good points. Engine upgrades are seldom just the engine which is why I like the moderately modded A series as it leaves room for the other stuff. A full race A14 is around 170HP, so a street engine would likely be around the 100-120HP depending on the tune. Add a 5 speed, LSD diff, brake upgrade, sway bars etc would make for a fun all arounder.

I'm still working on my A-series with E-series head hybrid engine which in the tune I'm looking at will be 150HP (a full race A/Es series dynoed at 186 HP) this could be a bit of fun for a street car but probably not cost effective.

dont waste you money on a a12 or any A series motors, what figures do u expext to achive? if you put a sr20 its already 3 times quicker than any a series motor u build n u can push them to well over 500hp try n get a Aseries at that much hahahahaha

but i would rather a nice rotor over any A series
