Even for a club to be allowed to provide club rego there are alot of guidelines, fees and even more responsibility involved than most could handle. There are heaps of car clubs that can't meet the guidelines. What you are suggesting is making up your own rules as you go along. Best register it as an A12 and drive it as a CA and be done with it.

I'm a member of NDSOC and they do accept modified cars, they mainly do racing events anyway. If ylou have all the sessicary paperwork they can do an inspection and give you your club rego. Providing that you are a paid member. I was a member for 3 weeks and they did everything to help me get club rego sorted. Great guys.

well they turned me away Don, i wanted to put my ute on club reg since i drive it less than 45 days a year
my ute is modified but has engineers certificate, and is currently full registered, yet they wouldnt even consider looking at it

what was more annoying was that shortly after i received the next club magazine, with guidelines for club reg.
and my ute meets all those guidelines....needless to say theres not much chance i'll renew my membership next year

its probably worthwile in resale value to keep the reg up on my ute anyway, since its apparently getting harder to engineer
modified cars nowdays, and im yet to see another 1200 ute engineered with a rotary in victoria

i would like to get my sedan back on the road one of these days though
