In all honesty I would only keep the CA20 as a daily its
too much risk to try and tune for sports.
If you changed the bellhousing to suit a Ka or L series
youd be better off. Depends on the class you want to race in
but the Ka20de was available and L20B is cheap as chips with
parts overload in your neck of the woods from L specialists.

Well sounds like if I did it, bone stock is how it needs to be.

I'm still curious if anyone has moderately tuned one......it seems everything I've read are people trying to get a big increase when they go kablamo...........nobody tunes for say 10-15% more (think GX trim) and keeping the revs to 6500...........................I suppose for the price I could easily peddle it on if need be.

When I meant daily since you cant reg it I meant ca20 for a daily car and put in a more powerful KA etc.

I`d like to see one tuned up for more NA hp but its up to you.

Thanks D,still on the fence...................I did some more investigating and in moderate tune about 100 RWHP, with decent torque. My A15 using existing parts will cost about $500 using the head off the A12 in the car and I'm really not expecting to get more than about 125-130 flywheel horsepower. On the CA20E it may be possible to get 20 more horsepower with a more torque for about $250...................need to do more homework.

Get a wrecked car with a title and slap the vin plates on. Otherwise, the car is pretty useless. CA20E was a fine motor for the street and getting groceries but on the track it has its shortfalls. In street trim in a 1200 that would be pretty good especially fuel injected. It's relatively easy to wire that harness into the 1200.

What year is the car? Need to know this to determine what generation of ECCS it has.

I'd say if you're after more torque, bigger displacement is the right direction, but what if you went a different route? I don't know what your limitations are when looking at engines. Anything bigger than the A-Series will obviously throw off the balance of the car more to the front. (of course you know that) Again, not sure how you have to have the car set up.

Oh, by the way, I still have a stack of parts to someday deliver to you.
