Hello peeps this is a thread to see who is interested in a billet plate to adapt an A series Auto bellhousing to a T50 toyota 5 speed using an adapter plate thats cheaper than buying a Dellows kit.
The person in charge of the adaptor plate has asked me to gauge interest to see if its worthwhile to go ahead with such an option.
He has one he uses for his beast and its very successful and a budget fix to those looking for a 5 speed.
Although the T50 boxes were getting quite rare it seems the toyota corolla ke20,25,30,35,70 and others like celica owners are getting out of using this box as their corollas are mainly rusting to the ground or upgrading to later toyota cars which require less work to stay on the road. This is good news for us as we have the better looking cars albeit with no cheap 5 speed options.
Therefore many T50 are now coming up for sale and although Im not a great fan of the 3.5 first gear its still almost the same ratio as available from 56a and 60a 4 speed boxes but with slight improvement in first an overdrive 5 speed and much stronger box than the rare nissan A series 5 speeds.
The adaptor plate will need an auto bellhousing which are easily sourced, then machine a bearing into A series flywheel and the input shaft sits in there. get a clutch to suit (details will be revealed soon), drill a hole for the clutch cable and bend a strip of ally and screw it down to hold the clutch cable. You cut a slot for the clutch fork to go thru the bellhousing, and use the datto 56a clutch fork, job done. They are much cheaper than the dellows kit in the end by quite some marging Im just looking for those interested first.
Im putting my hand up for 2 please add your name after mine

it will look something like this
(pictured is the W series adaptor to Toyota 4age series donks which used to use the T series but cant handle boosted 4age power so they go for the W series which are now coming from china under license and made from ex-Toyota japan factory castings and machines as Toyota has moved on to sourcing from Aisin 6 speeds and their own better and stronger R154 series boxes)

I wont be responsible for the group buy or receive any favours except a great savings over using a Dellows kit which is exactly what myself and others want surely?
