Yep Ive found a Fiat. No no hear me out! It is a 124 sedan, seam welded, box-flared, lexan fitted body with a rolecage done by the guy who runs rallye art in auckland. custom fuel tank and filler cap, all baffeled and foamed. Two race seats, new harnesses, classic rally trip meter on passanger dash (cant rember the name but their a collectors item). 4 link rear end with panhard and brackets for a swaybar and bilstein shocks. atless LSD four wheel discs with uprated fronts bilsteins in the front as well. 1800 twin cam tony marsh motor with trick head and 45mm throttlebodies and a motec computer. full stainless exhorst (headers to rear tip) putting out 90 rear wheel kws (130-40 bhp) and it weighs 760kg.
All for the same cost as my a14 build I was about to do.

dman thanx for your words of wisdom. thanx to the suport of this site and the charactor the 1200s have i dont think i can do it, but its so easy!! its all done! its so ugly! but so cheep! grrrr....! i dont think i'll be sleeping tonight.

yea its less than 6k and the tripmeter (classic rally one) is probably worth $800 - $1200 (been asking). the guys real honest and i KNOW its what he says it is (been asking). the problem is i would have to sell my coupe to get it ( cant keep 2 race cars) and i KNOW i would regret selling it, i dont think i could find a better shell and I done heeps of work to it. BUT theirs no real race class i can enter in the coupe so i get put at the back of the musslecar grids and production car grids ( tipe Rs etc, all 8 - 10sec faster than me) so it ant much fun, whereas i can enter a classic euro class with the fiat and have lots of competition and race with my girlfriend and her father. hmmm weather to keep the car i love and be a loner or get the fiat and be social.
I drive it on tues so Ive decided that if it totally kills the datto I get it otherwise I'll stick with the 1200. I will still have the 2door sedan project so I wont be totally selling out.

it has happened. I now own a fiat and am looking at selling my coupe. I will still have my 2door sedan to get my datto fix but the fiat was to good to say no to. So if and one in nz is looking for a datto coupe, look no further. Best body you will ever find, roll cage, brand new ( havent used them once!) bilstiens in the front 250pound springs, big stanza vented discs with girlock calapers with mintex 1155s and 180b m/c. bucket seat and 2 sets of new harnesses new kyb shocks in the rear and uprated and lowered springs. baffeled fuel tank, full braided hoses holly red top and regulator comes with spare h165 diff, 1200 engine and box, 2 1200 heads, two inlet manifolds (for twin sidies) boxes of parts (windscreen etc) and a choice of a worked (85bhp +) 1200 or 1400 with 5speed. $6000(a12) - $6500(a14) ono
havent decided exactly what to do yet but if anyones real interested I will sell it all.
