Hey ruredi,

Thats a 180b sss coupe late 73 model upwards.also known as datsun 610 in U.S and japan. In japan they are also called bullsharks and ubluebirds.

The 1972s and early 1973 didn't have the indicators near the front fenders as the one pictured.also only the 1972 and early 1973 coupes also came with the round gauge clusters as opposed to the late square cluster models.

The 180b sss also came as a 4door sedan.

SSS coupes came with 5 speed and l18 with twin sus's.

Im hoping to start rebuilding my 72 coupe sss this year and also have an 1985 sedan too. They are my favourite datsuns :) ive collected a few parts of them from japan.
There is also a G610 model.the 180bs are coded as U610.the g610 share the same chasis but have a longer front to accommodate larger engine and also different front grill. These are only available as imports from japan and im yet to see one in oz.
As compared to the 1200, they are considerably bigger and heavier. They also have irs and their stance when done right is quite appealing!

cheers

I used to own 3 x 1972 SSS coupes in the late 80s and early 90s
Last one was a pass me down from the old man with clean fj20et
The last photo is better with blackened out rear panel it gets
beautifully adorned by the chrome trimming that surrounds it.

My favorite is the G610 L6 engined from factory
The front I would have 180b SSS though but the
rest is just mad even in gold somehow makes it.
