thanks DB
so complete sandblast and 2 pac prime is an overkill/unnecessary?
found apparently can order through Auto One

torn as to if I should DIY prep or add $400 for blast and 2 pac prime.
if I blast, prime and get the U pol kit its $700 anyway, almost cost of complete professional job! :-S

The difference between sand and soda blasting is the abrasive/ media. i.e. sand and sodium bicarbonate.

The whole terminology of media blasting is twisted.

You bead blast glass bead.

Sand blast sand, which is a very large range of different material.

Shot blast, metal shot, shot peen.

Garnet is fantastic for automotive application, once used material is my preference.

Glass powder gives a magnificent result on softer metals.

There are probably thousands of different blast media mcdat, you might want to take your question to the old google. Search media blast abrasives or something along those lines.

If you are going to use a spray on liner, then sodablasting or sandblasting is a waste of money. If you can do it yourself maybe go ahead and do it but I didnt blast mine or anything. Just used scour's and water to clean it and used prepsol to get any foreign grease/residue off.

Just used etch primer and the raptor liner. Comes in 4 x 1 litre bottles and you can get a shutz gun on eBay for $20 and spray it yourself. Just makes a mess
