The 200B struts come in 2 diameters, the 251 mm (10 inch) are early build, while they dropped back to a smaller disc & different calipers, which were identical to Stanza. The good news is even the smaller discs' caliper uses the same pad as one of the commodores so good pads as easy to find. Other discs & calipers bolt onto the 200B strut as well, so bigger brakes aren't too hard to get. For years one of the best braking cars in Club Car here in Sydney was a 1200 Coupe with an SR20DE & 251 mm solid front discs. That was 10 years ago, but they still should do the job.

Thanx for the information.
I got a fair amount done today. I noticed that the radiator support panel has a fair amount of damage so I decided to remove it. That way I can repair the damaged area and while it is removed it will be much easier to fit the l20b.

You can see the damage to the rad support in this photo.

good work in getting the front off cleanly ... Looks like a red version of my kermit

I got a new front panel from Old Skool panels in Thomastown Melbourne

It fits everywhere except on the top corner on the passenger side, the sides are not the same on the new panel for some reason

Thanx mate. This is what I do for a living so it is prett easy for me. I only use after market panels if I rely have to. I think the original one is fixable so I will stick with it.

I got the l20 and 5 speed in the bay. But before I go welding up the engine mounts I still need to mod the sump to get it sitting a few mills lower. The way it is now there is about 2mm between the bonnet and the rocker cover. I will also need an after market sway bar to clear the oil pump.
