Give me a yell if you need a hand at the track mate - can always put aside some time for a 1200 debut!

Cheers.

Jeff will do.
I still need to get time off on Wed to get the retune done first.
I think I have some onlookers, coming but non with race or car experience so i'll give you a call when it all firms up would like for you to come down.

Been working on the car again today (A lot of little things).
Finished the new turbo install, started car and no leaks which is good. Was a fiddly job, had to make a custom waste gate actuator bracket.
I made some brackets/ducts to direct the front brake cooling to the inside of the disc.
I made a bead rolling tool to add a bead to each of my inlet pipes, they were coming off under boost.
I reset the diff pinion angle (Had some wedges in - so re-welded the brackets on).
Modified the exhaust outlet so it doesn't hit the trailer.
Cut some more off the front of the guards and flares to allow for more caster on the front wheels.
Tightened the steering wheel boss (There was a little movement).

I am sure I will continue to tinker and upgrade each weekend (never ending project :)

Tune went well last night.
More power and more potential. backed the boost down to 22psi for reliability and drivability whilst I'm still learning. Power delivery is still pretty brutal.
More HP with the restrictor would come from an engine rebuild with a higher Compression ratio.
Getting setup for a track session tomorrow at Eastern Creek. Looking forward to it.
Will keep you posted on how it goes.

Awesome day at the track yesterday (EC - Brabham circuit). Big thanks to Jeff for coming out for encouragement.
Car behaved very well, driver was very slow.
No real change undies moments, just got everything bedded in and pressed a little towards the end of the day.
first time ever on the track for both car and driver so didn't expect to set the world on fire. Actually just glad I didn't set the car on fire.
Only issue to address is lifting inside rear which unloads the LSD. I was able to control it better in the last session and suspect it is more my fault as a driver and with more practice I can drive it harder without lifting (Before making any changes to the setup).
Can see a heap of time to pick up in the data. Lap times will drop for sure.

Very good first day by the sounds of it. It will be much faster to fix the problem with the inside rear lifting rather than trying to drive around it though.

Yeah agreed.
Ive poored over the data on the weekend and I'm not sure if it's lifting or a problem with the LSD (Which was second hand when I bought it).
There is a fair amount of droop travel in the rear, it would really have to jack to lift the inside rear and looking at the data i would have been on two wheels. My guess is the LSD might need a rebuild (It was second hand when I got it).
It definitly lifts the inside front, can clearly see that in the wheel speed data.
Have a few little things to fix that might help address the rear traction was well.
Overall it was great fun. Already looking forward to the next outing.

Back down to the Creek on Friday.
Had a mixed bag of a day.
Radiator looked like mud after first run, rust buildup came loose. Flushed it but that took till lunch.
After lunch had a run and one of the oil cooler lines came loose sending oil under the car and onto the exhaust manifold.
It is in a bitch of a spot to tighten. Thought I had it so back out for another run and same issue.
Video attached of the last run up until the oil issue again.
You might notice my Oil pressure warning light, I have to fix the warning table in the dash. There is one part of the circuit where I am getting 40-45psi at 6k rpm which is lower then the table is set (after turn 3 over the crest of the hill).
Lap times are dropping heaps, more left on the track as the video will show.

hi McGee , just looking at your video and I know you said that the oil pressure doesn't go below 40psi but I noticed the light glowing on all the long radius corners and heavy braking spots, its a wet sump system yes? I have seen this before at the creek and have fixed the issue by installing a baffle system in the sump to aid pickup and stop surge, I have some pics somewhere if you are interested . Wards
