When I bought mine (MSII kit in parts) from DIY in 2007 it was around $400- delivered, the exchange rate's probably still better now than then. At the time that was the best price I could find. At the time Shore Electronics were about to get started with them and I have a vague memory of someone in QLD advertising them.

If you're thinking you might mod the controller at all it's probably not a bad thing building it yourself to get a bit of understanding for how it all goes together.

i was ignorant about import tax when i got my ms3pro and got stung with import tax :( ihave since told a few mate that import quite often and they ask the seller to declare it as warranty return to dodge that #OOPS#ed tax. or you could just get the ms3x expansion, its allot cheeper and has basically the same functions just in a bigger box.

My ms3x was $800 with both looms but then had to be assembled. Im also running 4 ls1 coils with a 12-1 crank trigger and a cam sensor so it can be done

only $489 in Australia, MSII can do the spark also, including COP.

So in 6 years it hasn't gone up much.

Which one should I use on an A series with multi coils and efi boosted ?

All MS used the same circuit board. The difference is the Processor. MS1 is 8-bit, MS2 and MS2 are 16-bit.

Megasquirt II can do multi-coil and EFI and boost. For COP it needs an optional upgrade. GM wasted spark needs no upgrade (use two GM coils for a four-cylinder).

Megasquirt III adds multiple selectable tables, USB control and sequential EFI. All use a serial cable to program/monitor. MS3 can also use USB.

I'm not even entertaining the thought of going an MSII. if i'm going for a megasquirt it would be a MS3pro

Unfortunately for me DIYautotune wont declare the ecu as a lower value or anything else to help out with tax. Might have to look for some other options. As at $1700 landed i would probably rather just go a Haltech PS1000 for the extra $100

I think it was something like that. the reason i went with the ms3pro over the Haltech PS1000 is that i have experience with the ms but more importantly the ms3pro has more functions and heaps of support.
