We have four fellas so far

Im thinking a brazed pipe where the first welsch plug is for the block as pictured and using the original RWD water/thermostat will be easier.
Using the Mini cooper R50 water pump looks like a perfect fit for the side of the block where the red block pipe out of the welsch plug plugged to short alloy inlet of Mini mechanical pump.

A mini part helping an A series who would have thought :)))

Below is a mazda 626 dizzie that could probably be used with its angled cap.

pic below shows the waterpump off a bmw mini cooper r50, I know its a bit big and there are smaller ones available but yet to find one except off Marine applications and some go carts.

Also been thinking of adapting a belt drive water pump base to a dual shaft alternator that usually have an air pump at the back on Hilux and Hiace vans. There are plenty of belt driven and camshaft mount-able water pumps to choose from for this application. Just trying to kill 2 bird with one...as not all peeps like e-pump some prefer mechanical for longevity & less wiring.

For electric the jabsco puppy pumps look better made with permanent magnet motor for bilge applications

Datman1947 if you also wish to keep the info to yourself as whole lot of Effexor went into this and you need a break from thinking about I can totally understand that as well.

Either way great job and at we've enjoyed the looking at the work.

Yeah, I reckon that's a bit insulting fellas. I don't think $500 bucks each would cover the effort, attention to detail and trial attempts.

If it's not insulting its certainly brazen.

Let the chap enjoy his legacy and I'm sure he'll spill the beans when he's ready. As the old saying goes, money can't buy everything.

How bout you guys zap dattoboy some dosh for his DOHC a-series development head. It's just about there.

We all have our opinions and no one is looking at insulting anyone but to say in this forum peeps come and go with this kind of project and may never come back, We are offering something for his efforts thats all.

We arent high sponsorship racers or race teams looking for an edge, most of us are enthusiasts. Some would like to learn how to do it with this persons wisdom and willing to pay for guidance. We cant exactly offer much else and that means we are prepared not to get the info for free as we would like to give something back to his efforts.

If he is insulted Ill be the first to apologise on our groups behalve that are willing to give in the only way we can online.

looking at the freeze plug holes in the head and the block, I've used threaded tubes for connecting tubes to places like them. Not only are they are easy to find but they go in without having to subject the head and block to the heat of welding or brazing.

When I need a connecting hose, I buy a hose of the proper diameter with a lot of bends in it and cut it up for the bends. They can be conected with some straight tubing to make any strange pipe(or hose) you need.

Thanks for the heads up! absolutely spot on Dennis, I should have suggested the screw on welsch plugs for sure, Ive had them done for my alloy suzuki block on one side where it was always leaking due to casting issues and corrossion.
Brass or alloy ones with hex design. Just found another water pump that could work like the Mini cooper one its much more compact/smaller yet needs a bit more effort would need a rear casing made from a thermostat cover and L shaped sandwich plate for mounting but very cheap pumps. Open to budget suggestions.
