well they are going to have to pull their socks up as the 86/brz have already built up enough steam and aftermarket support. The 86 project harnessed incredibly excellent reception from all car enthusiasts from different circles including original 86 die hards, while this Nissan effort hasnt.

Id still prefer something like this with the same money invested as the nismo bre idx effort using a grunter L series from Les Collins.

if nissan is thinking of a retro concept,id be inclined to say the value of datsuns will go up in the coming years.

as of the brz, imagine of toyota releasing an mk5 supra.
Japan has been ahead of their times. To think the rb26dett was in production cars by 1989 and the 2jzgte by 1991 makes you wonder the engines will see in the next 20 years or so.

any idea of the engine which has been proposed for this idx concept?

also if emissions permitted, would be cool if the idx concept ran a carburetor engine with webers or itbs etc etc

i think its the same engine as the new pulsar turbo 1.8 or the Juke but most peeps want 1.8 minimum.

Nissan really needs a clean slate engine much like the L series was in the original 510. They could go NA with 260hp using a revamped, improved good looking engine like the LZ with revised narrow angle head and even using magnesium block technology which is easy these days like BMWs latest inline 6 and definitely efi quads, carbs too hard for pollution these days. Using mass production they really need a sequential box not a cvt. Boost option is a must but a 2.5 litre big bore short stroke engine could easily be very well received even if lower hp per litre than an s2000 donk.

somehow Leb chrome versions of those wheels would be less rice and match the chin spoiler along with other chrome highlights.

its just a demonstration of how easily you can transform a car's looks with just a set of wheels and lowering.

I think the gunmetal 37SL's with machined lip suit it pretty well and match in with the dark grey and chrome bumpers.

I'm not a fan of "leb chrome" wheels... "not that there's anything wrong with that" :P

Yet your 120y build with those flares and non-Habib wheels is looking even better than this

You really must think the IDx is ugly! ;) It's growing on me. I really didn't like this yellow/beige one at first, but the more I look the more I like...

The flares aren't going on my car. I'll be trying to keep it subtle externally.

I personally like two door cars. But i guess it's look could have been modified to make it look better.
